As part of our AI Venture Forge “Meet the Cohort” series, we’re thrilled to feature Ailtir, a company bringing much-needed transformation to one of the world’s most complex and high-stakes industries: construction. Ailtir helps construction firms win more tenders by using AI to streamline critical workflows, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce costs across the bidding process.

How does your solution integrate with existing robotic systems?
Our motivation comes from a stark reality: 75% of the infrastructure needed by 2050 is yet to be built – a €20 trillion construction boom – yet every project starts with a fundamentally broken tendering process. As a civil and structural engineer at RoadBridge and Arup, I witnessed teams gambling tens of thousands on incomplete information, spending days manually processing 1,000+ page documents, all with 21% win rates.
Contractors waste 22% of operational turnover on this inefficient process. The construction industry deserved an AI solution purpose-built for their unique workflows, compliance requirements, and terminology – not generic tools that don’t understand construction.
How does Ailtir help construction teams save time and reduce costs during the tendering process?
We deliver complete AI automation of the tender lifecycle. Our bid/no-bid intelligence replaces guesswork with data-driven probability metrics. Our document analysis engine parses 1,000+ page documents in minutes instead of days, instantly extracting requirements and compliance criteria. For proposals, AI trained on previous responses delivers first drafts 80% faster while maintaining each company’s voice. We build proprietary datasets from past tenders, ensuring competitive advantage. The result: drastically reduced preparation times, enhanced accuracy, and increased win rates that transform tendering from a necessary expense to a competitive advantage.
What are some of the most time-consuming or error-prone parts of tendering that your AI tools eliminate?
We target four critical bottlenecks with our MVP: First, bid/no-bid decisions where contractors gamble on incomplete information – we provide data-driven probability metrics. Second, manual document processing of 1,000+ pages – our AI parses these in minutes. Third, risk assessment under crushing deadlines – our system automatically identifies and scores contractual risks with visual heatmaps. Fourth, repetitive SAQ/PQQ responses – our AI generates contextually appropriate answers 80% faster. Our intelligent automation breaks this cycle, delivering higher quality bids and improved success rates.
How do you balance automation with the need for control and oversight in high-stakes bidding environments?
We use “human-in-the-loop” intelligence that augments rather than replaces professional judgment. Our platform provides data-driven insights and automates tedious tasks, but final decisions remain with experienced professionals. Bid/no-bid tools offer probability metrics, but bid directors make strategic choices. Document analysis extracts information instantly, but teams validate outputs. Risk assessment flags risks, but professionals interpret and price risks.
Our AI generates proposal drafts maintaining each company’s voice, but preserves their competitive advantages. We eliminate manual work while preserving the strategic thinking construction professionals excel at.
What challenges have you faced in getting traditional construction companies to adopt AI-driven tools like Ailtir?
The main challenge is that bid teams are so busy with their current workload that they don’t have time to consider new tools. We overcome this by demonstrating immediate, tangible value of our platform. Our design partnership approach – working closely with four companies as co-creators – ensures we’re building exactly what the market needs while allowing these teams to experience real benefits during development. This collaborative approach has generated genuine market validation, with our compliance matrix already deployed and letters of intent proving our platform’s immediate impact.
What are you hoping to gain from your time on the AI Venture Forge programme?
We’re seeking strategic mentorship and funding readiness for our next growth phase. We want to build a great MVP with our design partners and create a comprehensive deal room so that we are completely investor ready. Our immediate goal is to raise €200,000 in angel investment to accelerate product development, which will position us for a €2M seed round in 2026. The programme’s expertise will be invaluable in refining our pitch, strengthening our financial projections, and connecting us with the right investors who understand both the construction industry opportunity and our AI-driven approach to solving critical tendering inefficiencies.
Looking ahead 12–18 months, what does success look like for Ailtir?
Success means having our initial core features fully built out with proven market traction from our design partnerships. We’ll have expanded to the UK market and grown our team to support this expansion. Our MVP will be delivering measurable ROI through improved win rates and reduced preparation times, positioning us perfectly for our €2M seed round in 2026. The programme will accelerate this by providing strategic guidance on UK market entry, helping us refine our go-to-market strategy, and ensuring we have the right team structure and investor relationships in place to capture our share of the €20 trillion infrastructure boom.
