PorterShed is Hiring: Junior Project Manager

The Role

The PorterShed is celebrating a major milestone – 10 years.  This milestone event brings together founders, innovators, investors, leaders, and the tech community. We’re looking for a highly motivated Graduate Junior Project Manager to help us deliver this landmark celebration. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate student who wants hands-on experience in project management, event design, communications, and stakeholder coordination. You’ll play a meaningful role in shaping one of the most important events celebrating PorterShed’s ten-year anniversary. 

About You

You are a graduate student (or recent graduate) in business, communications, project management, marketing, event management, or a related field.

  • Exceptionally organised with strong attention to detail
  • A great communicator who enjoys working with people at all levels.
  • Comfortable taking initiative and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Interested in tech, startups, entrepreneurship, and community building.
  • Energetic, creative, adaptable and excited to be part of something big.

What You’ll Do

As our Junior Project Manager,  you will assist the PorterShed Team with:

  • Supporting the end-to-end planning of the 10-Year Anniversary Conference, from concept through execution.
  • Helping maintain project timelines, deliverables, and workflow documentation.
  • Assisting with tracking budgets, vendor quotes, and event logistics.
  • Event Production: Coordinate with speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and partners.
  • Support venue management and PorterShed team with tech setups, catering, travel arrangements, and on-site logistics, staging, branding, and attendee experience design.

Communications & Outreach

  • Help prepare event communications, including email campaigns, partner updates, social media content, and internal briefings. 
  • Work closely with our Community & Marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and audience engagement.

Other Duties

As part of your role, you will be required to cover the Front of House in PorterShed. This involves opening and closing procedures and community support.

Additional Information

  • Compensation: Term Contract (Jan- June 2026) with potential for extension.
  • Full-time, on-site role, must be flexible for occasional evening and weekend hours.

The Galway City Innovation District (‘GCID’) was founded in 2015 to develop an innovation district in downtown Galway City and accelerate the growth of the regional technology ecosystem. The primary focus of GCID is to create high-value, sustainable jobs in the West of Ireland.
